We had a book of fairy tales, hard cover and built like an encyclopedia, if you know what I mean: gilt edges, glossy pages, that smell... It was volume three in an otherwise unowned series, probably received as a grocery store promotion or bought at a garage sale.
ReplyDeleteThe cover was mostly plain, but it had a border around the outer edge filled with line drawings of the characters that could be found inside. I remember poring over that cover, thrilled every time I was able to identify someone new after a day's reading.
That's really the only cover I remember.
That really is beautiful man, loving that. It's pretty close to what I'd imagined it would be, which is amazing- like the idea has a certain raw texture that's been captured in that image.
